Rebooting during an expanding array
I have set an array on a Smart Array 532 controller expanding into a spare hard drive.
it is likely to take a couple of days yet and I will need to reboot the server before it has finished.
Can anyone tell me if this will affect the task in any way or will it just pick up where it left off.

Re: Rebooting during an expanding array
Andy,
I wondered the same thing a while ago when I had to do an expansion. In the end I went without the reboot until it finished the expansion job.
I'd be interested to know though if you get confirmation from anyone.

Re: Rebooting during an expanding array
Jefferson,
We have decided not to reboot yet, but I did phone a friend who works for an HP partner. He made enquiries and came back with the answer "It should be ok to reboot".
"Should" wasn't good enough for us in this instance so we decided to leave it for a couple of days.

Re: Rebooting during an expanding array
Andy,
I got the same 'should' response from everyone I spoke to as well..... not concrete enough for me either (especially when it's a production system !).
This is still one of lifes mysteries for me.......
