Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

Hi,

In the EVA 4400 we found some alert but its not critical or warning, but if this is coming for every 2 mins we are missing so many warning and alerts, is there any way to stop the alert.

Re: Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

this advisory refers to several previous generations of EVAs and may be showing up again, you don't say whether you are using integrated CV or CV installed on a server but have a look at this, it may be relavent. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=471497&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c00805458

Re: Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

it shows the same error code caused by a mismatch between command view version and controller code version, there may be a new advisory that includes the 4400 but the symptoms and circumstances are the same so it seems likely the reason is also the same.

Re: Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

HP Command View EVA 9.0 (both server-based management and array-based management) is supported with XCS 09500000
firmware on the EVA4400/6400/8400 disk arrays. not sure about 09003000. still it's almost certainly a version related issue and not something broken.

Re: Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

found this in the documentation:
NOTE: For new orders of EVA4400, Command View EVA v9.1 media kit is optional, but highly recommended. The Command View
EVA software is pre-loaded on the embedded management module of the EVA4400 array. Customers who want to deploy
Command View on a general purpose server, or a dedicated management server or on a Proliant Storage Server (NAS) need to
order a Command View v9.1 media kit.

Re: Receiving alerts every 2 mins in the event logs

There is no guarantee that this event will never come up in the future. If your system is running without any troubles (this event does not indicate a real problem), it is _strongly_ recommended to keep it at this level for now.
