Removing Online Spare with saconfig

Is there a command to remove an online spare from an array using saconfig without deleting the array? I want to use the physical disk that was assigned as an online spare in another array. If I create a new array using the same physical disk that was assigned as an online spare will it affect the original array?

OS = HP-UX 11.11

Re: Removing Online Spare with saconfig

Ed,

Yes. You can delete the Spare Drive assigned to you Logical drive. First make sure you get correct drive number ( Channel and Target ) of the Spare Drive using saconfig command. Then use saconfig -D -s to delete it.

No . You can't use the Spare drive assigned to a logical drive already with a new logical drive. Remember you crate a Spare drive by associating it with already configured Logical Drive.

I guess you are referring an array as another logical drive.

Hence you can delete it first from original logical drive and put it bak to new logical drive .
