I have one EVA 5000 very old (2003). Recently I have the event:
"An HSV110 controller's battery assembly has malfunctioned".
Actually, the both batteries from one of the controllers failed.
HP tells me that the battery is not in contract and I have buy them.
My question is:
How often should I replace the batteries?
Is there any other components that I must replace proactively ?.
Thanks in advance

SolutionThere is no fixed lifetime for the batteries in the EVA, but after a couple of years they tend to go bad. That's just normal for batteries.
When you replace them, have a peak inside the controller (you may need a flash light) and on the connectors on the battery. If you see any corrosion/miscoloring/etc, you may have to replace the controller as well.
There is no part you need to replace proactively.
However, if you look through the controller event log (alternatively ask HP to do it for you) you may find that some disks for example have some check conditions that mean that maybe you should replace them. But usually just waiting for them to fail is a good idea unless you have a contract or you have problems relating to the component.

Re: Replacement batteries for the EVA 5000 controllers
Just check the Cache Battery End(raiser board which connects to the Controller Mid plane). If all pins are Gold color(with any damages) then only Cache batteries replacemetn will be suffecient else you it may require to replace controller and cahce batteries also.
