SA 6400 firmware

Hello,

I have a SA 6402 RAID controller under HPUX 11.23 and the latest firmware for it under RISC was 2.34 (MAXWELL). For Intel and Itanium the firmware is already up to 2.56 and at least one year apart from RISC. I have the latest patches installed. Why is there such a discrepancy?

The major differences seem to be battery related, so should not be architecture dependent.

Thank you,
Alex.

Re: SA 6400 firmware

Hi,

The latest firmware is 2.58

Refer following link at
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=378439&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=1132643&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=7

The previous firmware version 2.34 was for Integrity servers.

As mentioned in the "Installation Instructions", you need to download the firmware from this site and copy it to EFI partition. Then update the firmware from EFI shell.

Re: SA 6400 firmware

My machine is j6700. I don't think EFI applies to it. In the past I flashed firmware right from the command line.

Thank you,
Alex.
