SATA disk not recognized on MSA20

We have got an MSA20 array with (unfortunately) non-HP SATA disks (500GB Seagate 7200.10s) attached. A disk failure has occurred and we tried to replace the disk with a new one. However the new unit is not being recognized by the MSA1000.

Any ideas?

Re: SATA disk not recognized on MSA20

Thanks for pointing out that issue.
However it seems to me that our problem is unrelated (12x500GB here; no limitation due to FW). Am I wrong about it?

it could be the HDD firmware issue here

Re: SATA disk not recognized on MSA20

Ah I understand. But unfortunately these are not HP-branded disks, how could we apply a firmware (apart from the ones issued by Seagate)?

Thank you.

Re: SATA disk not recognized on MSA20

A firmware update to the controller and shelves resolved our issues with new disks (HP or OEM).
