I have an array with 6 disks in RAID-5 and want to add one disk, not as HOTPLUG.
In irm the only option seems to be creating a new array.

Re: SC10 adding new disk to existing array
SC10 is a JBOD it does not have any raid controller so you can add another disk without any problem.
This can accomodate upto 10 disks.

SolutionWell it looks like you have to select "Management Menu" -> Advanced Menu and reconstruct your logical drive - see Chapter 4 of the manual here:
http://docs.hp.com/en/J6173-90007/J6173-90007.pdf
See the section on 'Changing a Logical Drives RAID Level'
Looks like you can't do this online, so make sure you backup all your data and unmount filesaystems before commencing...
