SCSI Disk Usage
Hi,
We have a AlphaServer 4100 connected to a Storageworks(disk array). The array has "DS-RZ1FC-VW" disks in it.
Can i add "RZ29B-VA" disks to the same array & use it ??
Thanks & Regards,
Ramesh.K.R.

Re: SCSI Disk Usage
A DS-RZ1FC-VW is a disk capable of doing wide transfers, a -VA can only do narrow. I need to know the exact name of the storage array/ controller to tell if you can use it - some controllers like the HSZ-70 reject narrow disks.

Re: SCSI Disk Usage
Hiya
The DS-RZ1FC-VW is a 36Gb 7200rpm Wide SCSI HDD the RZ29B-VA 4.3Gb.... if the 4Gb is added to the current RAID Array then the larger capacity drives may downsize.
You would need to state exactly what RAID Array controller you would require to confirm this. I would just used the 4.3Gb on it's own rather than try and add it to the Array. 4.3Gb is vey low capacity.
