SecurePath question
I have a old N4000 server running HP-UX. Would like to install a few fibre HBAs for connection to the Enterprise EVA. Do I need to purchase the SecurePath sw? If so, what is the part number for the license of the SecurePath sw? Thx in advance.

Re: SecurePath question
Well, which EVA are we talking about?
For the EVA3000 and 5000 with VCS up to 3.028 you will need SecurePath if you want to attach the EVA redundantly!
Secure Path v3.0F for HP-UX license PN: T3549C
See: http://www.compaq.com/products/quickspecs/11402_div/11402_div.HTML
If we are talking about EVA4000, 6000 or 8000 or EVA3000 or 5000/3000 with VCS4 you can either use SecurePath above or native PVLINK of HP-UX.
The HBAs you can use are either A5158A or A6795A.
Cheers
Peter

Re: SecurePath question
If you want to config:
Dynamic Load Balancing
Remote Management with Secure Path Manager
Proactive path checking
Automatic failback
YOu should buy Secure path, otherwise you can use native PVLINK of HP-UX as Peter said.
For part-no: see "order Information" in

Re: SecurePath question
Ah, forgot to mention that with EVA4000, 6000 or 8000 and EVA3000/5000 with VCS4 you can also use DMP if you have the Veritas Storage Foundation!
