Serious Problem

Just tried to install a Smart Array 431 on a Compaq Proliant 400 system, updated to the newest RomPaqs first, both the Smart Array 431 and the COmpaq Proliant.

First I had the problem where it cannot find a logical drive on the machine, solved that by updating the RomPaqs.

Now I can install Win 2000 but it takes approx. 10 minutes to start, it seems to run ok, but it is very very slow. I have just taken the Smart Array 431 out of the maschine as i thought it maybe the maschine that was broken. But now the installation and the initial work with the maschine is perfect.

Anyone know why i entcounter these problem, it would be much appreciated...... ?

Greetings Thomas

Re: Serious Problem

By the way, the installation also took a lot more time, and was slow.

I am using 2 x 9.1 Compaq SCSI disk for the system........

I also tried disableling the internal SCSI controller, but this hat the effect that SmartStart couldt install anything......

Working on this problem now for 13 hours, any help wouldt be appreciated.

Re: Serious Problem

What version of Smartstart is involved? Does setup see the 431 as the primary controller?
