Smart 5300 failure
Just received a new HP smart array 5300 card. I added a stick of 128 MB memory and intalled it in slot 4 (66 mhz bus). The machine I'm using is a Proliant ML 530. The card fails to initialize, then prints out " 1783 - Slot 4 Drive Array Controller Failure! [command failure (cmd=0h, err=ooh, dlu=0f109:67fh "
I tried updating the firware, which failed. I also tried slot 6 (33 mhz bus) which also failed.

Re: Smart 5300 failure
Hi,
What we can try is try to remove the memory from the controller for day and keep under observation that controller is working fine or not.
After 1day we conned the controller and battery to check the outcome does we get any error again.
Any error leds on the controller itself.
Regards,
Prashant S.
