Smart Array 6i Parity Rebuild taking a long time
Hi,
I have a DL380 G4 which has a Smart Array 6i onboard.
There was an issue with the raid sets about a month ago and now the ACU is constantly reporting the following error:
"Background parity initialization is currently queued or in progress on Logical Drive 2 (273.5 GB, RAID 5). If background parity initialization is queued, it will start when I/O is performed on the drive. When background parity initialization completes, the performance of the logical drive will improve"
Any ideas on why this would be? Is it possible that one of the drives is still failing?

What was the issue? Did you replace a drive a month ago? The rebuild probably never started. Anything else in ACU about drive memberships and drive (rebuild) status?

Re: Smart Array 6i Parity Rebuild taking a long time
We replace one of the drives that was flagged up as faulty.
The rebuild was started from the RAID card POST message and completed but it has been saying that the parity initialisation is queued/in progress for about 3 weeks now.
Ive increased both the rebuild and transformation priority to High but still no difference.
