Smart array cannot support more than 502.0 GB
I am installing Ultratrak15000 sn M12303800149
It has 15 Seagate Barracuda 120 gbyte drives installed.
It is being connected to a Compaq Proliant DL360 server with Windows2000 server for the operating system.
The server has a compaq integrated smart array contoller that the Ultrtak is connected to, with SCSI ID #2 assigned to the th Ultrtrak.
The Server has an error message stating that "the conroller currently supports logical drives less than or equal to 502.0 GB.
Have you seen this error before and do you have a solution to the problem.
thank you,

Re: Smart array cannot support more than 502.0 GB
On the integrated smart array controller the maximum logical drive size is limited to 502 GB. You may have multiple logical drives of this size.
Only Smart Array controllers of the fifth generation architecture (and later) support logical drives larger than 502 GB. The following Smart Array controllers have fifth generation architecture:
Smart Array 5302 Controller
Smart Array 5304 Controller
Smart Array 5312 Controller
Smart Array 532 Controller
Smart Array 5i Plus Controller

Re: Smart array cannot support more than 502.0 GB
Thanks, for answering my question. Since I asked the question, I installed an adaptec SCSI contoller in the server. The adaptec controller handles the array without any trouble.
