SmartArray contoler in non HP servers
Hello, everybody.
Our customer have Supermicro servers. Now they want to implement RAID, so I suggest to use HP SmartArray controler 641.
We try with 641, 642 and 6402, but servers always hangs after detecting SmartArray.
Thanks

Re: SmartArray contoler in non HP servers
Simon,
You would be best off with a third party solution in a white box. SmartArray controllers are designed for the proliant and NAS boxes. Of course the best solution would be trading in the supermicro servers for some new shiny Proliants.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: SmartArray contoler in non HP servers
I agree. Get a more generic Adaptec solution. They are faster and less cost but Adaptec actually supplies continued support for new OS's. They have a good 1 and 2 channel solution that we have had great luck with.
