Stop pairsync/ split CA pair or not before a remote BC pairsync/ split ?

Hi
is it necessary to pairsync/split a CA pair say from host X & Y before pairsync'ing/spliting a host Y BC operation ?
I ask this not from a "will it work" perspective because I know it will. The question is really - is that the correct and sure way to make sure you get consistent data on the remote split S-VOL ?

Also

will de-activating a volume group from a SGC/ vgexporting -p etc (to vgimport to a backup server) affect CA?...ie ...will it cause CA to fail or just PSUE/S? or will there be no affect at all?.

When the vg is (re)activated, will CA just start up as normal or would a manual intervention be required ?

many thks
