Update Firmware for VA7100

I must update my VA7100 controller Firmware and disk firmware. but i have not done it before and really need docs? if any docs are availble pls let me know

hi,

I guess this activity has to be done by a HP CE. It requires the updation of your command view SDM software. and i feel you can update the firmware using the launcher utility. I haven't done one till now or seen someone doing it.

This should be performed by HP. You will need to update the Command View SDM software, patches (if needed), and make sure you have a backup of all data on the array. HP will have a firmware file for both the controllers and the battery charging circuit. Both should be upgraded depending on their current level. The upgrades are indeed performed through the Command View GUI or can be performed through the VFP (Virtual Front Panel).

I have already updated it by myself. My company did not buy support service from HP.
When i was updating, i suddenly think that how to recover Firwares if updating is fail.
