VA 7400 Stripe Group

We plan to use a VA 7400 disk array in RAID 1+0 mode.

If there are multiple LUNs in a redundancy group, is the data for each LUN striped across all the disks in the redundancy group ? In other words, each LUN is not limited to a subset of the disks in the redundancy group.

I believe this is the case, but was unable to find explicit confirmation in any of the documentation.

You are correct. All LUNs on any one Redundancy Group span then entire RG, including spares. This gives optimal performance.

Hello all!
Only one thing!
The VA 7100 has a ONE REDUNDANCY GROUP and The VA 7400 has a TWO REDUNDANCY GROUP, because the VA7100 has a One Backpannel and The VA7400 has a TWO BACKPANNEL, this is the difference between both Virtual Array.

The lun in this case "va7400" the data striped across 2 RG!!! OK?

Actually, the LUNs of a VA7400 do not stripe across 2 RG's. Each LUN resides on one of the two RG's. So, your largest LUN is about 1/2 the capacity of the array.

Thanks for the answers. I was aware of the other details concerning redundancy groups... I just needed to confirm the stripe group size.
