Re: VA Log File Performance

Thomas,
The preformance logs are being created
by using the performance tab in command view.
Command View sdm polls the array every 15
minutes. This data is stored in a log files in the Command View performance
directory.
the more you monitor the preformance and add matrixes the more files will be created.

Re: VA Log File Performance

Thomas,
I take back what i said about the usage of the matric.
The Matric is showed based on the automatic data that is being gethered into these log files.

in the config directory in PanConfigParams.txt file there is a parameter:

POLL_FREQ_PERFORMANCE=900

the 900 is in sec = 15min this is the interval of probing the VA and saving it into the log.

Re: VA Log File Performance

Tal,
I want to manage the size of performance log files. So I have added the parameters
PERFORMANCE_KEEP_MIN_LOGS=7
PERFORMANCE_DB_MAX_SIZE=50
to the PanConfigParams.txt and stopping and starting the Hostagent and OpenDIAL with the following command
/opt/sanmgr/commandview/client/sbin/HA_Dial_Stop
/opt/sanmgr/commandview/client/sbin/HA_Dial_Start

But there are still exist old performance log files from Januar 2006
in the directory /var/opt/sanmgr/commandview/server/logs/performance/HPA6189A00SG211J0095

Re: VA Log File Performance

Remember the logs are there in case you would like to create a matric based on these days.
If that information is no longer needed go a head and delete it.
