VA7100 setup
I recently purchased an N4000 with a DS2400 and 14 36GB drives. After installing the OS and moving our database and enterprise app over to it we had serious performance issues. We have an old D class that was faster than the N class. After spending several hours on the phone with HP support it was determined that the DS2400 was not meant to be used in JBOD mode and the bottleneck was all disk related.
At HP's recommendation I purchased a VA7100 and moved my 36GB drives over to it. According to the tech I worked with I could install a trial of Command View SDM to get teh array set up. I'd rather not use the trial just for setup. I'll purchase it and put it under my software contact, however I'd like to get thsi set up now.
Is Command View SDM trial available on the application release CD's?
How difficult is it to learn?

Re: VA7100 setup
Shawn,
Command View sdm is for free and you can get it here ftp://cvsdm:cvsdm@192.170.19.51/
Don't forget to register and install the license.

Arend

Re: VA7100 setup
Sorry to correct you, but Command View SDM is not free.
What you get is one license with the purchase of a VA7100. So in order to use it more than 60 days you need to enforce the key that was shipped with your VA7100.
See ftp://192.170.19.51/NEW_LICENSING_1.07_CVVA02.pdf
Cheers
