Hi,

What are the host hardware requirments for the VA7100. I am a little confused how the system works, does it require a connection to a host, if so, what hba can be used for the connection.

Also, does the Va7100 support the c3600 workstation? or does it depend on the hba.

And secondly, does anyone have some information on the A6828A. What are the hardware requirments for the card... and does anyone have an idea of cost.

To connect fiber channel oriented VA7100 to the host using fiber channel, either A5158A or A6795A is needed.

It looks like that C3600 doesn't support A5158A or A6795A.

The A6828A is a PCI single-channel Ultra160 SCSI SE/LVD adapter and supported on all PCI based servers.

and it says that the A5158A is compatible with the C3600 and so is the A6795A according to

Alex, You're right.

Both A5158A and A6795A can be installed on C3000.
Sorry for making mistake.
