Re: VA7400 vs VA7410
Its big brother, the VA7410, can run multiple drive bays (lots more disks), has more cache (more is better, mostly), and has 4 (four) shiny new 2Gb FC ports.
If you are considering buying one of these, go with the 7410 unless you have very modest space requirements, with modest I/O rates and no major growth expected. It is cheaper, but not if you end up outgrowing it (you have to buy a whole 'nuther array to expand).
On the VA7410, with its four FC ports, you can do MC/Serviceguard clustering with two nodes (servers), and no FC switches. The VA7400 cannot do this, and when you add the FC switches, the cost is about a wash... so the 7410 is a standout for this.

Re: VA7400 vs VA7410
You have the 7400 mixed up with the 7100.
The 7400 has 2 2Gb FC ports for the hosts, and 2 2Gb FC ports for disk. The 7410 has twice that. The 7400 can have 6 expansion drive shelves, just like the 7410.
The 7400 has 1GB of cache per controller, and again, the 7410 has twice that.
That's about it for differences.
