VA7400

First time user of a VA7400 array, i have it hooked up to an L2000. I already downloaded command view, but i can't get the system to see the drives inside the array. Any suggestions on how to format the drives? and if you could point me to a website to learn more about it, i appreciate your help.

Looks like the 7400 has been superceded by the 7410.

if you are using serial console to connect to the VA7400 array,

use vfpfmt to format the array.
set the raid level using mgr command mgr -? for more information.

Since you are a newby firt make yourself familiar with the array and how it works.

and type the product: VA7410 (Yes use 7410, these manuals cover all VAs)
Choose: HP StorageWorks Virtual Array 7410
In the lower part click on : manuals

You need to use Command View or a terminal connected to the VA to create the LUNs. You can't see any LUNs from HP-UX until you create them on the array. Remember it is a virtual array, and you create LUNs of whatever size you want out of the total usable space.
