VA7400

Hi,

We have a VA7400 connected to an DS2405 disk unit. we are having problems.

We are having a little issue getting the new array up.
The controller seems to come up fine but when I turn on the expansion unit all of the even drive lights flash orange on the controller unit.
Orange trouble light is on both units and drive 15тАЩs light on the expansion unit is also orange

Thank you
Jon

Re: VA7400

Hi Jon,

Did you set the link speed on the DS2405 LCCs to 1GB/s for the VA7400?

Re: VA7400

That appears to have resolved that issue.
Now I have on the expansion unit drive lights 5-10 and 15 flashing green fast and orange slow.

Any idea what that pattern means?

Thank you

Re: VA7400

It might be initializing those disks to 520/bytes and some were previously formatted for 512/bytes.

Install CommandView SDM for Windows or HP-UX or connect a serial terminal to the back of the VA7400 to really tell what's going on.

Make sure all of the components have the latest firmware:

Run the armdiag command if you're still having problems and post the logs.
