VA7410 LUN limitation

Hi,

I am configuring a va7410 with 7.5T of diskspace. Currenlty, I only have 2 HBA per machine and one acts as a alt/path. So, really, I only have one path to the machine. I created 20G LUNS and added them to a few volume groups. And, then, I began to wonder; What happends when I run out of SCSI addresses? My LUNs are c1t0d1,c1t0d2, etc.. So, what happens when I reach c1t15d7? Do I run out. When I do the math, I only have 120 or so LUNS to give with the IDs. (120*20G) is far less than 7.5T. Can someone help me out here.

Thanks

Yates

Re: VA7410 LUN limitation

The VA-7410 supports 1024 LUNs (0 thru 1023). Volume Set Addressing is used for disk arrays - so if you create e.g., LUN 923 and ioscan & insf, you will see the physical path .a.b.c.7.3.3 (which is 7*128 + 3*8 + 3) and its enumerated device file.
