This question about the VA7410 might be a little outdated but I hope someone has the patience to help a beginner with his fist steps.
Two virtual array 7410 and one disk system 2400 is the only hardware I have at the moment to work with and gain some experience with storage devices.
My question now is: is it possible to use a VA7410 in connection with a blade enclosure with BL20p as well as Bl25p? If so, what are the requirements?
Thanks a lot for your help!
If there are any references you can provide me with I'll be thankful for every hint!
Best regards,
Oliver

Solutionthis shouldn't be a problem. You need either the fibre-channel connictivity kit für the GbE2 switches, or embedded fc-switches for the p-class bladesystem. You also need fc-mezzanine cards for the blades.
With this you should be able to setup a SAN.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: VA7410 and BL20/25p
I now in theory what a SAN consists of. I never set up one myself especially not with a blade enclosure.
I'll try to find some white-papers about that. Nevertheless if you'd have some advise for me, I'd be very thankful.
Best regards,
Oliver

Re: VA7410 and BL20/25p
a special "SAN-building-guide-for-p-class-blades" doesn't exist. But maybe the SAN Design Reference Guide ist something for you:
http://www.hp.com/go/sandesign
Also the quickspecs of the p-class enclosure, the fibre-channel connectivity kit etc. are nice to read. I remember some design guides for p-class. I have them on my notebook, but I don't have any link. Maybe I can send you them by mail.
Best regards,
Patrick

Re: VA7410 and BL20/25p
sorry, I can't see any mail address in your profile. But I have zipped all my p-class docs and uploaded it on my webserver:
http://www.blazilla.de/download/pclass.zip
Hope this helps. :)
Best regards,
Patrick
