VA7410 missing disks
Hi all,
Here's the situation:
I've just added a second Jbod to my VA7410 with 15 146GB HD installed in it. The master unit and first Jbod are populated with 73GB disks. The problem is that the array only sees the even numbered disks in the new jbod, none of the odd numbered ones can be seen. They are actually in the array with solid green lights on all.All of the original disks are visible and are working fine.
There are no warnings, though the array does say that it is Optimizing.
The array is in production, so I need to be careful about what I do with it.
I've included the output from the armdsp -a, in case that is of help.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to proceede would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Gary

Re: VA7410 missing disks
Gary,
quite some time ago I had a similar issue. HP changed a JBOD controller and the VA had to be reset. Might want to plan for that.
Regards,
Bernhard

Re: VA7410 missing disks
I was thinking something like that might be the case. I've opened up a call with the response center. We're going to try a reset today. I ws just wondering if anyone had an idea short of that.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: VA7410 missing disks
Thought I'd give an update, in case anyone else runs into this.
The problem was solved by doing a partial reset of of the array controlers.
The command is run from root:
# armmgr -R partial
Thanks again
