VCS controller Drivers for Win2K3

I have setup a dell server with win2K3 OS with 1 qlogic FC HBA as EVA management servers. I have installed CV EVA v4. I can manage and configure the EVA6K with no problem.

My only problem is that the OS wants the drivers for the HCS VCS controllers. Any step that I might have missed or are there null drivers that I need to install?

Did you install the drivers via the 'Smart Components'? They should have the required files for the SACD.

You can try re-applying the driver package and it should put the needed .inf in place.

Or you should be able to extract the files from the driver package and manually update the devices.

Re: VCS controller Drivers for Win2K3

What is this SACD thing? The software CDs I have are the CV EVA, EVEperf and Kit software. I installed CV EVA as per the instructions on the manual: Double click on setup, it install EVAperf and CV EVA afterwards.

My setup is working fine at the moment. Windows has the drivers for FC HBA. CV EVA can manage and manipulate the EVA with no problem. My problem is that windows keeps picking up the Controllers and it says "Found New Hardware".

Which CD has the software that I need to install to supress this message?

Re: VCS controller Drivers for Win2K3

SACD is the Storage Array Controller Device (LUN #0, on the HSGs it was called the CCL - Command Console LUN). It is required for SCSI-3 communication.

The files should be included in the Fibre Channel adapter kits (Smart Components).

I would try this package:

It even includes a "SACD.inf" file, which might be sufficient for you.

Re: VCS controller Drivers for Win2K3

You probably have hba driver 9.0.0.13. There is a newer one.

For Qlogic cards (fca2214 type and similar), click here...

For emulex type cards (A7388A and similar), click here...

Grab the SCSIport driver, or grab the STORport driver for those servers you want to try "Boot from SAN".

After you download the file and run it, you will have the option to install or extract the files. Installing them should fix the problem. If it doesn't, you should be able to do a manual driver update by extracting the files from the driver package to a location on the local HDD, going into device manager and right clicking on the devices that need drivers, select update driver and point the hardware wizard to that newly created folder with the extracted drivers.

Some questions for you...

Which model EVA?

What multipath software are you using?

Make sure you update Command View EVA as well...
