The vraid1 is what you are looking for.

Hope this helps!

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

But in the Quick Spec. See attached doc ( page 3) Vraid1, Vraid 0+1 mention separatly.

But in the Command View EVA we found only VRAID0, VRAID1, VRAID5 and VRAID6.

That made us confused. Any idea?

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

I don't know what should be the difference between raid1 and raid0+1 on an eva.

However, the specs are likely the only source that mentioned these raid levels, but I'm only aware of vraid0, vraid1, vraid5 and depending on FW level vraid6.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

In general a RAID1 is a mirrored disk, a RAID0+1 or RAID10 is usually a striped mirrored disk.

A vraid1 is always a striped mirrored disk (using all disks in a disk group), so you can compare to a RAID0+1.

Hope this helps!

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

vRAID6 may also be available on your 4400 depending upon the firmware version.

As stated.. vRAID1 on the EVA is effectively RAID0+1.

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

There are some documents about this on the web, for example

http://www2.openvms.org/kparris/eva_intro.ppt

(old but still valid)

or just search for something like

"eva distributed virtual raid"

Hope this helps!

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

Can we declare any hot spare disk in EVA?

Re: Want to creare RAID 0+1 on EVA4400

No dedicated disk, but reserved space on all disks (protection level).

Hope this helps!
