Wide / Differential SCSI disks on 12H AUTORAID

Can we use Wide / Differential SCSI disks on a 12H Autoraid ?? OR do we have to do any configuration changes to achive this ??

NOTE: 12H already has some Single Ended disks

Thanks & Regards,

Re: Wide / Differential SCSI disks on 12H AUTORAID

Hi Ramesh
the AutoRaid 12H only takes SE discs and are identified by the yellow label on the front. The only thing you can change is the speed of the discs from 7200 to 10k bu you need a special fan mod to be able to put these discs in. They are easily identifiable in the fact that the fans and discs have a raised label instead of a flat one
hope this helps

Malvin is completely correct.

There is no need for Fast/wide disks in a 12H, since the best speed you get on the connection into the array is 20MB/s. the Drives are 5MB/s, and since the data is striped across the drives, you get far more I/O from the disks then can be piped over the FW connection in the back of the array.
