Win2K to New Server

Okay,

Current Setup: DL360, smart array internal with (4) 18 GB hot swappable drives, RAID 5.

Needing to yank these out and toss them in the following:

ML370, Added on Array 640 card instead of standard internal array controller.

I get a BSOD (innaccessible boot device). Now I know this is obviously related to the array controller (yes the ML370 knows all about and sees the drives just fine).

Is this a simple boot from Win2K Cd and repair? or am I making this too difficult on myself? ;)

Thanks!

You sure it is a dl360? and not a Dl380?

I would think that all you need is the registry entry for the 640 card? 640? Is that a 6400 series card?

Can you install the new Smart Array into the 360/380 and load the drivers for it? Then move the drives?

Re: Win2K to New Server

Adding the card to the existing server, loading the drivers and then migrating the lot to the new chasis... this worked like a charm
