Write Back Cache on SA-5i
Hi,
I have just installed the Battery Backup to my DL380 G3 which has the SA-5i RAID controller. Everything on the hardware side seems fine. But I am running Windows 2000 SP3 and we are doing some performance fixes, one of them is to enable Write Cache by right clicking the drives etc. But this fails to work.
I'm just confirming this for myself that this is because the Write cache is controlled at the hardware level and therefore Win2k write cache will not work?
Also I have the power protect option switched on via Win2k, is this a good thing?
Thanks
Kristian

Re: Write Back Cache on SA-5i
Hi,
write cache i hardware controlled and you can enable or disable it from the RAID CARD controller ..
You will have a option at the boot up to go into the RAID card setup. You can try out some things from there..
Regards
