Re: XCS upgrade on EVA8000
And how is it that you have an EVA8000 and not Command View? It should be installed on a Windows server with access to the EVA.

Re: XCS upgrade on EVA8000
I do have Command View EVA 6.02 installed on a server and the EVA8000 has XCS 6.000.
I have to upgrade XCS to 6.220 and CV to 8.01 or 9.01.
I just wondered if I can upgrade CV to 8.01 or 9.01 and after that upgrade XCS to 6.220 using the new Command View version.
That├В┬┤s why I asked about the possibility of upgrading XCS without using Command View.
If you want you can reach me on antonio.dematos@hp.com.
Regards.

Yes (see above)
"That├В┬┤s why I asked about the possibility of upgrading XCS without using Command View."
Thats why ... ?
I don't understand!
You need CV for any management operation like this.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: XCS upgrade on EVA8000
If you are going from CV6.xx to CV7.xx or later then you will also need to sort out your licences!
You WILL be required to have a licence for CV from V7.0 onwards for the total capacity of your array. If you do not use BC or CA then that will not be a problem but if you do you will need to migrate your licences for that as well.
Check out this HP website for further info:
