XP 10000 and no 7+1?

It looks like in the quick specs that the XP 10000 doesn't support 7+1. Is this a typeo?

No, this is right.
Raid 5 (7&1) will be supported later this year with a new FW release.

Re: XP 10000 and no 7+1?

Hello,

I read the quickspecs* and found out that RAID 5 is supported. Whats the difference between RAID 5 and RAID 5 (7+1)?

THX,
Patrick

Re: XP 10000 and no 7+1?

On XP12000 and 10000 you can build 4 disk or 8 disk parity groups.

The XP10000 currently supports
RAID01 with 2 data + 2 data mirror disks
RAID01 with 4 data + 4 data mirror disks
RAID5 with 3 data + 1 parity disk
RAID6 with 6 data + 2 parity disks

The XP12000 supports the above plus
RAID5 with 7 data + 1 parity disk

See the attached slides for details

Thanks. Any word on space-efficient snapshots on the 10K?

Business Copy Snapshot is planned in the same timeframe as 7+1 thus later this year.
