XP CA license question.

Hi,
This may be a simple but it is causing a bit of debate.
When using XP CA, is a license required on both arrays to setup one way replication. I assume it is for bi-direcional replication?

Thanks,

Re: XP CA license question.

Hi,
the licencing is capacity oriented and it covers the total logical PVOL (primary/source volumes) and SVOL (secondary/destination) volumes).
the pain is one part of the reality

Re: XP CA license question.

Yes, you need to license both arrays.

So if you want to replicate 1TB of data from array A to array B, you need a 1TB license on both arrays.

Or if you want to replicate 0.5TB frpm array A to array B, and 0.5TB from array B to array A, you need a 1TB license on both arrays.

If you look hard enough, this is described in the quick specs for the XP array software:
