Re: XP1024 host mode for VMWare ESX 2.5.1??
IN the esx san guide (from VMWare website: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/esx_SAN_guide.pdf) I read:
========
For HP XP storage array microcode levels and specific guest operating system, HBA, and
switched fabric configurations, please contact your HP support representative.
========
So yes, there is an issue. Best peek into the VMWare knowledgebase for details.

Re: XP1024 host mode for VMWare ESX 2.5.1??
We've been using mode 0C (Windows) without incident. Of course, this does not indicate that it is correct.
ESX does recognize the multiple paths and fails over when necessary.
Keep in mind that ESX does not load balance, so you should alternate prefered paths on a per lun basis from ESX.
