XP128 Open-V only gives fixed size ldev
During re-configuration of XP128 Raid Group to OPEN-V, 3D+1P, the buttons to select ovn ldev size are not presented. The Raid Group formats with 4 * 52 Gb ldevs.
The Array firmware had been upgraded from 21.13 to 21.14.40.00/00, the latest recommended and installed by HP,but problem remains.
Do we need additional software (Luse/CVS) licensing on the XP for Open-V user sizing to be operational ?
Many Thanks in Advance

Re: XP128 Open-V only gives fixed size ldev
Hi, unlike the RAID500 arrays (xp12k, xp10k) -> 2812TB Max the RAID450 arrays (xp1024, xp128) has the maximum size of the OPEN-V 60GB.
the pain is one part of the reality

Re: XP128 Open-V only gives fixed size ldev
Hi,
one additional info,the RAID450 arrays (XP 1024/128) provide the capability to create OPEN-V in sizes of 48.1MB to 60GB

Re: XP128 Open-V only gives fixed size ldev
Hi IBaltay
Thanks for your reply, but it does not address my problem. ALL XP128 documentation says Open-V emulation is "user defineable lun sizing" from 46 Mb to 60 Gb. I have read that. When the HP engineer configures a Raid Group for Open-V emulation, he cannot define his own lun size. Those buttons are greyed out. There is something wrong here. Are we configuring it wrong ? Is there another procedure we should follow ? Is there a fault in the specific firmware ?
Many Thanks
