XP12K & HDS9980 BC/shadowcopy

we are using raid manager and same cofig files to manage XP12K BC and HDS9980 .The problem is when we use HP Recommeded raid manager the command device gives permission error on hitachi and when we hitachi specific raid maager version it gives permission error o any raidscan on hp.Has any used the same setup in the past???
