autopath and HPUX

Is autopath the same thing as PVLinks but for NT? If there is a difference, is it (or when will it) be available for HPUX? I know that autopath offers failover and load balancing for multiple paths to a disk array (7100 in our case). PVlinks offers failover but I always forget if it does load balancing or not. Any help would be result in points. Thanks in advance.

Quin

p.s. any idea how this merger is going to effect HP storage?

Re: autopath and HPUX

Hi quin,

Here is a thread which answer your second question about load balancing using pvlinks

http://us-support.external.hp.com/cki/bin/doc.pl/sid=f34178c616679f6406/screen=ckiDisplayDocument?docId=200000053891763

we also had some discussion earlier in forum on this if you would look through some old questions.

And autopath is not the same as pvlink, i think so. i'm reading autopath as alternate path that available to a pv in disk array.

Thanks
