cannot mount advfs disk on Alpha ES40
After overheating crash I cannot mount one of two SCSI disk arrays (non-system) on Alpha ES40 server running UNIX True64. System gives me an error: "BAD FILE NUMBER". What number?

But why dont you give us a little more information, a cut and paste of the screen output of what yer doing, would do just fine.

Re: cannot mount advfs disk on Alpha ES40
One of yer disks has failed, because of this the volume won't become online. As the volume isn't online, it can't be mounted.
The "BAD FILE NUMBER" is an error message which means (most of the time) that you are using an invalid device name/file.
Try rebuilding your LSM volume and restore the lost data from tape.
