change disk with a great one

i have a DL 380 with 6 x 36GB disks raid 0+1. now i would like to "replace" this disks with 6 x 72GB disks, without reinstall any software, and make the space avaiable 200GB instead of 100GB. how can i do?
thanks in advance

Re: change disk with a great one

Sounds like you are using a SmartArray controller. In that case I would first make sure I have a good backup. Then I would pull one of the 36GB disks, wait a bit and replace it with a 72GB disk. Now is time to wait for the rebuild. When the rebuild is complete, this operation can be done for the next disk(s), one by one. Please understand that you are running without RAID protection for an extended period of time!

After the last disk as been rebuild, you should now see your disk array with lots of free space at the end. You can create additional logical disks there or, depending on your operating system, you can extend the current logical disk.

The final step would be to make the operation system aware of the aditional free space at the end of the logical disk.

In addition look into the diskpart tool if this is a windows 2k or better box
