Re: command view

Open CommandView, go to hosts submenu and enter N-class host name or IP address. The CV should connect to that server and get database from it.
This message you receive means that THIS host (your PC) you have CV installed on have no database of accessible VAs (because it have no VAs connected to it by FC)

Re: command view

Very good. But do you have LAN access to N-server from your PC?
Here's one more thing you can try:
go to N-server and configure PanConfigParams.txt file in SAN manager directory to have "WEBSERVER_ENABLED" "true" and "WEBSERVER_PORT" "4096" and try accessing N-class from your PC with Internet Explorer: "http://'n-class-ip':4096/"

Re: command view

So can you access CommandView installed on N-class using web interface?

Re: command view

Michelle,
please tell me:
- which version of CommandView you have installed on N-class;
- which storage device is connected to N-class;
- check if you CAN manage storage device using CommandView software locally;
- check that proxies are not preventing access to N-class;
The main thing we should check now if you can manage storage locally on N-class using CommandView

Re: command view

Very good. Try:
- restarting daemons on the N-class: 'HA_trigger stop', 'dial_trigger stop', 'dial_trigger start', 'HA_trigger start';
- disabling proxies in IE (proxy and autoproxy);
- setting IE up to 'check for newer pages'='every visit to the page'.
Under normal conditions simply http'ing to N-class we should get 'Copyright HP' web-page
To get web-CV you should enter "http://'n-class-ip':4096/Launcher.html"
Could you please attach to your next reply output of "armdsp -a" command for VA?
