eva5000 and i/o fencing
Hi all,
first have an happy new year !!
does anybody know if the last release of VCS for eva5000 have the full SCSI3 functionnalities ans especially the persistent reservation. We would like to know if we can use the Veritas cluster with RAC...

I know that Tru64 Unix uses persistent reservations - it is shown on one of CV-EVA's web pages, but I have no idea if the full spec. is implemented.

Obviously not an answer to your question but, did you ask Veritas and Oracle about this? I think you might have their certification to try a RAC-Veritas-EVA setup

All,
to the best of my knowledge Veritas and Oracle will not be certifying RAC on EVA5000 as the controllers don't support active/active pathing. The new EVA is said to have active/active and most likely would be certified in due time. Hope this helps.
