expanding an array using hp array configuration utility on a proliant 6400r
Is there any documentation on expanding an array using HP array config?
I have never done this and I am afraid that I will lose data when I add disks to the array.

Re: expanding an array using hp array configuration utility on a proliant 6400r
ACU is pretty safe, I have never had a problem... The drives are hot-pluggable and the array controller can handle detecting new drives live.
If you are planning on adding a new Disk Pool you won't be modifying the existing volumes so there won't be an issue there.
I'd recommend going slow (load about 1 drive/minute into the drive shelf while monitoring ACU) and you will be fine.

Hi Tim,
We have documentation i.e ACU user guide which gives you steps for Expansion and Migration of a Array.
