horcm death detected
Only recently we have encountered
a problem with our horcm daemon.
Though a ps shows it running, all pair type commands are failing.
HP support suggested we put a horcmstart.sh 0 in our script to insure it is running prior to running a resync script.
Now we are finding the commands are failing, we try to manually shut down the instance - this fails.
We then grep for the horcm pid, kill this and then a start works and all is fine until the next horcm death detected is encountered.
Have opened a new case with support, but you can see their last solution. Hoping we're missing something simple.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any input.

Re: horcm death detected
DL,
Take a look at the patch PHSS_26216, specifically Id = HSLco32253 SR: H555006993.
This may not specifically address your issue but may help.

Re: horcm death detected
Mystery solved.
I created a script to clean up the /tmp directory daily.
This was deleting .lcmep00 which
was needed by Raid Manager.
HP support called back with the
question about a script cleaning /tmp.
They hit this one right on the head.
Thanks for the suggestion Dave.

Re: horcm death detected
Solution -
It seems I cleaverly instituted an script to clean up /tmp on a daily basis and it was deleting
.lcmcl00
.lcmep00
which the hrocm daemon creates and requires.
Actually, HP Support got a person
who hit it right on the head with a simple "Are you executing a cleanup script for /tmp?"
A newbie error. Script has been changed to preserve these.
Sorry for the late solution post.
