Re: how to check which licnese is Installed in Command View EVA
- 'click' the EVA in the left tree and you will see the 'Initialized Storage System Properties' page
- below the buttons, there is a |Licensing| tab
- click this tab and you will get a summary of all licensed features (CV, BC, CA) and their licensed/used capacity.
Below that you will the a list of all license keys, whether they are permanent or temporary and when they will expire.
If you want to upgrade CV-EVA, you get a 60-day 'instant-on' (evaluation license). But: unless there is an urgent need to upgrade I strongly recommend that one gets hold of the keys first. There is always a chance that 'something goes wrong' and in the end you might end up with a system you cannot manage because the 'instant-on' license has expired.
I do not make fun! You cannot even add a failed disk to a disk group. We had this problem at one customer site when somebody else did upgrade to CV-EVA V7 and then said 'good bye'. This version offered 180 days of 'free management', but because several things, well, 'went wrong', he ended up with an unmanageable system.

Re: how to check which licnese is Installed in Command View EVA
On the other hand: somebody must have delivered the system - either a partner of HP (maybe via a distributor) or HP itself.
It is a good idea to start asking there.
Even if you cannot get the product number you might get another 'magic thing' called a "HP ordernumber". With this information somebody could look up the details.
