how update the disk firmware of VA7400 array

one disk failed i replaced one failed disk of Hp Va 7400. but actually the disk with the same firmware was not avaiable so i have to put same capacity and model number one different disk. now disk is included into the array but firmware is different with another disk. the same failed disk was having the data redundancy map.
please tell me it is required to update the firmare to the same release to get data maps. or some another procedure is there.
if firware update is required then how to update the firmware of disk.

On one hand, HP usually use different disk models with (of course) different firmware having the same size, speed and part number - this is not a problem.



But on the other hand according to your logs you did replace the bad drive with a third party drive!

You should never do this. The disk does not match the array and may destroy your data.

disk manufacturer and model is same. is it not possible to update the firmare of disk to the level of another disk..

As long as we talk about the disk M/D15 - forget it!

This disk is totally unsupported for your array!

In a worst case expect data loss!

Means i ahve to down that particular disk and replace it with the disk of the same firmware version.

Once again:

The disk in M/D15 is

NOT SUPPORTED

in your array - regardless of the firmware!

Take it out, wait for the rebuild has finished and replace with an original HP disk!
