the following seems to be a simple question, but I didn't find an explicit documentation:
There is an MSA1000 with new firmware 4.48, which supports several OS including hp-ux 11.11.
From the CLI I have to add a connection:
ADD CONNECTION
What is the identifier for the hp-ux profile (host mode)?
The following host modes are mentioned in the CLI Documentation:
Windows (default)
OpenVMS
Tru64
Linux
Solaris
Netware
HP
Is it HP?

Re: hp-ux-server direct connect to msa1000
You can do a "show profile". I have an old example that shows the "HP" profile with Mode 0 = "Volume Set Addressing", which is required for proper operation on HP-UX.

Re: hp-ux-server direct connect to msa1000
i've configured profile HP and Hard AL-PA on
the MSA1000 and then it worked.
But one thing seems suspicious to me:
If I type "show connections", msa says:
Controller 1 Port 1 Status = Offline.
Seems, that I'm not alone with this phenomenon:

Any ideas?

That's not supported until the next FW release...

Re: hp-ux-server direct connect to msa1000
msa1000 has only one controller.
