hp va 7100
When i wanted to use it , it didnt function properly so i connected it to a console through a serial cable .
and in the command prompt it read "no map " ..
what do i do next ?? what does it mean??

no map means that the array is not configured.

but I'm not using a SDM. and I will have to download one . (wonder if I can) ..
nyways ... I was using the hyper terminal and found out that when I give command dsp -c command it shows one cotroller to be in a failed state ..
what does a failed controller mean ?? I dont have a spare one to replace this ..

A failed controller means a defective controller. If you have a hw contract then HP must replace this controller

Is there data on the array?
If not can you pull the handle for one controller (don't pull the controller out, just release the handle) and see if the other boots up ok.
Then shut it down and see if the other controller boots. For both output capture the dsp -c -f -d -e -L -s (one command)
