lun configuration
I just received a pre-configure rx7620 running 11i 11.23 that boot from a VA7110, the array came only with one lun, this system will only be attached to the hpux. I thought that an array had to have lun0 of 10mb dedicated for server communication and I thought that it was better to have 6-8 lun. What will be the impact of keeping the system like that and what are the recommendations if we should modify it.
Thanks,

Re: lun configuration
In case of a multi host environment (or more than 1 partition), most OS needs to see the LUN 0 to find other LUNs. In this case you should have a LUN0 with a size of ~10 MB and enable all hosts to access this LUN.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: lun configuration
So it will be ok to have only 1 lun for the entire system?
Thanks,

Re: lun configuration
On my hpux host I need more disk space, in the command view, I currently see that I have 193gb of disk space not assign, what should I do?
I currently have lun 0 of 100gb attach to hpux 11.23 on my va7110.
I also have a logical volume call /data, should I create a new lun under a new vg and move /data there? What is the benefit of doing that?
Thanks,
