migrating command view eva 5 to 9.01

On a SMA we are running CV EVA 5. Besides this machine we have a server with CV EVA 9.01 in combination with HP SIM 5.3 and WEBES to monitor and send errors to HP. The SMA is to be faced out because of discontinuing off ISEE, but for now it has ownership for the EVA 5000.
Question is: how can we migrate from CV EVA 5 to CV EVA 9.01, is this possible with one step ?

Thanks Piet.

Re: migrating command view eva 5 to 9.01

You must have the latest (3110 / 4100) firmware on the EVA5000 to be able to manage it with Command View 9.01.

Another complication is that you'll need to request/migrate the licenses for that EVA5000 to the new format used by Command View 7, 8 and 9. Contact your sales representative for that.

Once that is done, Command View will discover the EVA and load all the information from it. B├Г┬бsically just uninstall one Command View version and install the other.

Thank you for your quick response.
The two conditions you described are fulfilled.
Do I have to copy the hpevasan directory from the SMA to the new machine and then take ownership and that's it.
Will it be so simple.

Thanks Piet.

Re: migrating command view eva 5 to 9.01

No, Command View 9 stores the local files in another path, and re-creates them from the info on the EVA. You do not need to copy any information, it's all on the EVA and will be read by the new Command View.
